Our Mission & Vision

The mission of Clarkrange Baptist Church is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Dean Patton, Senior Pastor

Pastor Dean came to Clarkrange Baptist in the fall of 1999. Before coming to Clarkrange, he served as an assistant to the pastor, Sunday school teacher, and youth director at Friend’s Chapel Baptist Church of Morgan County Tn. His ministry began at Liberty Baptist Church of Crossville, TN where he served as youth director. Dean holds a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with minors in Biology and General Science. He also holds a Master’s degree in Instructional Leadership, and a Master’s in Theological Studies from Liberty University. He is a bi-vocational pastor, working as a science teacher at Cumberland County High School in Crossville, Tennessee. He also enjoys motorsports, football, and especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Derek Lane, Worship & Music Director

Derek has been a believer in Jesus since high school. He has been involved in music ministry for more than 20 years.He began by playing piano at Washington Avenue Baptist in Cookeville. He took on the role of Worship Leader at Clarkrange Baptist in 2004. Derek is also on our Sunday school staff. He is an engineer by trade. His wife Melanie is an attorney in Jamestown and serves as our church pianist. They have two children, Anna-Grace, and Emory, with whom they enjoy yard work, basketball, football, and music.

Larry Pritchett, Deacon, Missions Coordinator

Brother Larry serves our church family as Senior Deacon. His heart for service is displayed in his variety of roles in our congregation. As the Clarkrange Baptist Missions Coordinator, he works closely with the Riverside Baptist Association to organize multiple construction and evangelism events each year that have a direct impact on our community as well as our outreach to the world. Larry also leads our annual Vacation Bible School staff, teaches an adult Sunday School Class and sings in the choir.


Jimmy Pritchett, Deacon

Jimmy has been a lifelong resident of the Grimsley/Clarkrange area. He also has been a long-time member of Clarkrange Baptist Church . Jimmy serves in many capacities other than deacon. He is in the choir, works with middle school kids on Sunday nights, and is highly involved with recreation during VBS. Through the week, Jimmy can be found working with his family at their business in Clarkrange. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and especially his grand children.

Jeff Wright, Deacon, Education Director

Jeff is a very active member of Clarkrange Baptist. He serves as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Educational Director. His wife Burlinda is Church Secretary and they have two wonderful sons, Tristan and Isaac. God has placed Jeff in the community as a high school teacher where he also sponsors a Bible Club. He finds his career in education very rewarding. Jeff lists the acceptance of Jesus’ free gift of salvation as the defining moment in his life.



Ronnie Casteel, Deacon

Ronnie’s gift for teaching has brought many blessings to our entire community. Retiring after 28 years of vocational education, Ronnie continues teaching and speaking in the church. He, along with his wife Peggy, joined Clarkrange Baptist in 2009, and in 2012 was appointed as deacon. At the age of 14, Ronnie gave his life to Christ during Vacation Bible School and has viewed service to God and others as his personal mission field. Serving in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict, serving our church as deacon and teacher, and faithfully serving Christ in obedience, Ronnie is truly a blessing to Clarkrange Baptist Church.
Nelson Matthews, Deacon
Nelson is a long-time resident of the Banner Community. Nelson and his wife have three children and ten grandchildren. He is employed with GRW Engineers in Nashville. Nelson was reborn in Christ in 1964, and has been a member of Clarkrange Baptist Church for the last seven years. In his spare time he enjoys photography and hiking. The difficult the hike the better.
